Just got back . . .
June 1st, 2008Okay, so the fam and I just got back from a glorious week in Colorado. Great pictures are below!! Some great friends - Steve, Kristen, Emma, and Sophie were gracious enough to allow us to join them at a rental house in Beulah, Co. - a little ways outside of Pueblo. It was a beautiful week filled with much laughter, some crying (mostly from the little ones) and good times.
One day, we went to the zoo in Colorado Springs - the best zoo in the world. Our son Elias got to feed the giraffes and actually said giraffe for the first time because he loved it so much! He also rode on a pony - all by himself. He looked so cute and BIG holding on tightly as the nice young woman led him around the ring. All three kids had a great time and everyone knows that when the kids are happy and occupied by something then the parents are happy as well! On another day, we went to the Royal Gorge. We all walked across the “highest suspension bridge in the world” even though most of us were a little scared of heights and the wind was trying to blow us right off! It was a great sight to see. Some other great sights were the Garden of the Gods and the view from the front porch of the house we stayed in. Our God is a good God who has a flare for creating some breath-taking sights!
All this vacationing made me remember the gifts that God gives us everyday. Those gifts like spending time with your family and loved ones, staying up late talking with a friend, getting up early to hold your child as he cries, laying in bed next to your wife at the end of the day - especially if has been a long and sometimes difficult day, and countless other gifts that unfortunately we take for granted pretty regularly.
My prayer is that each of us recognizes and receives these gifts much more often. And if you are reading this - then stop it and go and spend some face to face time with someone who loves you. And if you think that no one loves you, then think again because our God loves you more than you will ever know or comprehend! That is a gift that will just keep giving and giving and giving!
Peace yo!
